Is the future of fashion technology growing your own clothes?

When the future of fashion is discussed, wearable technology, electronic smart fabrics and 3D printed fabrics are mentioned, time and time again.  Maybe the future of fashion clothing is not masses of technology and electronics, but actually naturally grown fabrics, bio fibres.  These fabrics can be made using tea, vinegar, sugar and natural microbes.  Good for the environment they are eco friendly and biodegradable.  Suzanne Lee’s Ted Talk above describes how she grows bio fibres to make into bio couture such as the jackets below, offering an alternative to leather.
