Top TED Fashion Futures & Wearable Technology Talks by Collette Costello – Fashion Futures & Wearable Technology Series

TED Talks if you are yet to check them out cover every topic from body language, to working as a model, with inspirational, motivational speakers.  I watch them just for fun sometimes as I find them interesting, they have some great talks on fashion of the future and how wearable technology will be used, below are my top TED talks about these areas.

Danit Peleg: Forget shopping. Soon you’ll download your new clothes

Danit Peleg presents her talk wearing 3D printed shoes, in the presentation she talks about how she developed a collection of clothing that can be downloaded and printed on a 3D printer; the designs inspired by architecture are an exciting vision of the future.

Suzanne Lee: Grow your own clothes

Suzanne Lee grows her own fabrics which are similar to leather, they are then made into leather jackets, her TED talk covers how she did this.  To learn more about how fabrics are grown check out my earlier blog post, “Bio Fibres, Bio Couture, Grow Your Own Clothes”.

Lucy McRae: How can technology transform the human body?

This a really interesting talk, Lucy McRae has some great ideas of how fashion will be in the distant future, with technology actually built into the human body, such as electronic tattoos, a perfume pill that makes you sweat the odour.
